Are you looking for a workplace where you can grow and thrive? Look no further! Join our incredible team where we strive to foster a supportive and collaborative environment. We are proud to say that we value our team members and work hard to retain them. Come join us and see why our team members never want to leave!

Since opening in 2000, the Ashton Vets for Pets in Greater Manchester which is a locally owned surgery has worked hard to provide the community with excellent care and service to our loyal client base, and we have an opportunity for a new Veterinary Surgeon to be a part of our established team.

Take a tour of our practice -  here

About us:

The practice is independently run, by Lewis and Elaine, supported by a fantastic team, who are committed to delivering an outstanding level of service in the community and through this they have enabled a real “proud to be part of the team” work ethos. The team are supportive and really like to push each other to achieve their career goals, so as you would expect CPD, and certificates are highly encouraged. Lewis and Elaine have worked tirelessly to create a work environment that rewards its team and ensures they are treated fairly, due to this the practice has great retention rates ensuring continuity in the practice.

Our surgery is ideally based being just 7 miles from Manchester City Centre for cultural days out, or if you prefer country walks, the Peak District is just a short drive away and it is perfect for commuters having a tram stop just outside the practice! It is also just a short drive away from Manchester Airport which will mean there is no stopping your weekend adventures.

About you:

You, the ideal candidate, will have good surgical and diagnostic skills along with a desire to explore and complete full work up on cases to compliment the current two full time vet team. We have an amazing 6 strong nurse team that love to be kept busy as well as a friendly front-of-house team of 5 receptionists. We can offer a full-time vacancy, 40 hours per week with 1 in 3 weekends. There is no OOH requirement and after working a weekend you will have 3.5 days off…a very long weekend!

We understand the importance of a good work life balance so if full time hours aren’t for you then we can negotiate part time hours for the right candidate.

We can offer you:

As you would expect from the market leader in small animal veterinary care, we offer a supportive and friendly working environment together with career development opportunities and an excellent package and benefits that includes;

  • Salary up to £65k (FTE) dependent on experience.
  • An extremely generous relocation package of up to £5000 is available for direct applicants only.
  • Generous CPD including certificate funding.
  • No OOH and a negotiable rota to help a work life balance.
  • Private healthcare.
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, VDS, etc)

With more than 440 small animal practices across the country, of all shapes and sizes, Vets for Pets is one of the largest UK veterinary groups and offers Veterinary Surgeons a range of opportunities, including the opportunity to run your own practice. However, what really makes vets for pets a unique opportunity is that it is run locally, providing our local teams the time and opportunity to support their local community. This means you to join a team that can support your individual needs while offering you a bespoke introduction to the practice, local community and caring for our patients!

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
