Job Description

Bolton Companion Care are looking for a friendly vet to join their team on a part time basis!

Bolton is located just 30 mins Northwest of Manchester City Centre and under an hour from the coast at Formby, making it the ideal location for those who wish to be active on their days off. The international airport in Manchester is also only 30 mins away which is perfect for the sunshine getaway or returning home to family during your time off. The practice itself is in Horwich on the outskirts of Bolton, with great transport link into the town centre and to neighbouring towns in the area.

The practice is looking for an additional Vet to join the team on a part time basis (up to 30 hours per week) to ease the pressure of our current vets and allow for more flexibility in the rota and time off. The team is currently made up of 3 Vets (one CertAVP with special interest dermatology, 2 enrolled on CertAVP currently), 4 RVNs, 2 VCA’s and 2 CCA’s and is led by the 3 owners. You will ideally have a couple of years’ experience in the industry as there would be occasional sole charge on the weekends (1 in 4), however if you are just starting in your career there is plenty of support in practice from the experienced Vets.

Due to the flexibility in practice, we can accommodate a consult only vet but if you are interested in surgery a mix of consults and surgery would be great. We currently run 15-minute consults with additional down time factored into the diaries for paperwork and general breaks to suit your needs. Our nurses are also starting back up with nurse only consults to help with the workload.

The practice is home to a close-knit team with most colleagues being part of the team for many years, however we have integrated new members in team successfully as we are keen to expand the team and make everyone feel supported within practice. In addition, we do spend time together outside of work going for meals at the local eateries which further enhances the good vibe within the team.

Along with the support in practice, we are also able to provide a competitive salary, a contributory pension scheme, access to private health insurance, 20% of Vets4Pets, PAH and the Groom Room, and access to the reward hub full of high street retail discounts. In addition, we are also happy to support you through a certificate such this be something you wish to do.

If you like the sound of the above and would like to apply or find out further information, please email northvet@vets4pets.com

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
