Leeds Birstall 24/7 hospital are looking for a CONSULT ONLY Veterinarian.  This is a part time role (20-25 hours per week) offering flexibility in a workplace dedicated to clinical excellence, continuous progression, and providing a team culture where everyone can thrive.

Set up by our JVPs, Keith and Julie Leonard in 2012, we are a family run, RCVS Accredited Hospital and Emergency Service Clinic, providing OOH and referral support to 16 referring surgeries.  This is run alongside a thriving first opinion business meaning we get the best of both worlds: the case variety you expect to find in a busy general practice and the continuity to work this caseload up and provide high quality, advanced, referral level care to our patients in-house. 

We are always looking to progress and increase the services we can provide; a recent extension has tripled our working space, allowed us to grow our team, offer even more flexibility in working patterns, provide further progression opportunities, and expand our ability to provide in-house CPD and training.  Even more recently we have started working with an external CT imaging provider, further improving case continuity for both our vets and clients.

This is a consult only role covering 2 days/week with 1 in 4 weekends.  We are flexible in regard to shift times and we can support shorter, long or ‘late’ shift patterns on weekdays to fit around your commitments.  You will be covering our sick pet consulting blocks and should feel confident in dealing with routine and more complex presentations. This role can also be tailored to include:

A hospital in-patient day shift
OR
A twilight shift covering a majority ECC caseload.

Client education is also really important to us and would love our new team member to share in our passion for delivering the best care and service to our clients.

Within our clinical team we a diverse range of skills and interests with many of our Vet and Nursing team holding certificates in their area of expertise.  We have team WhatsApp groups for clinical discussions and support and hold regular in-house CPD sessions in a range of subjects.  We have a fantastic management team, including a mental health first aider, so that our vets and nurses can concentrate on providing the high-quality care we pride ourselves on.  One of nurses is also training as a life coach to provide further support to our team.
