Job Description

Are you looking to progress in your career?

Interested in pursuing your clinical interests or completing a certificate?

At Market Harborough Vets for Pets we can help you grow and shape your career in a stable environment, with guidance and development from both practice colleagues and our highly experienced regional team.

We’re going through an exciting period of change, so this is a great opportunity for you to get stuck into a growing business and make your mark. You’ll be joining an enthusiastic and growing team, where colleague input is welcomed and encouraged. We’re a close-knit bunch and are looking forward to welcoming a new vet into our practice.

Our surgery is purpose built to deliver the highest clinical standards and provides excellent facilities, giving you access to all the equipment and space you need to care for your patients. Take a tour of our practice and see for yourself! You’ll see a mixed client base, including a high proportion of dog lovers, and work up your own cases, giving you the opportunity to develop any specific interests you have with certification encouraged and fully funded. The team hold a variety of individual interests, including a Mental Health First Aider, and regular CPD is encouraged and supported for all colleagues.

Voted as the best place to live in the Leicestershire and Rutland in 2022, Market Harborough is a quirky market town full of history, culture, fantastic schools and affordable housing. The high street is renowned for having independent retailers and has hosted a market for over 800 years; so whatever you need, you’re sure to find it here!

The practice offers free onsite parking, is based just a 10 minute walk from the train station and is close to major transport routes including the A14 and M1. The cities of Leicester and Coventry and Northampton town are all within a 45 minute drive, and there’s also easy access to various airports

including Birmingham, East Midlands, Luton and Stansted. It really is a great location for a variety of lifestyles, and we work hard to ensure our team maintain a good work/life balance to make the most of this.

We actively support our colleagues to have a healthy work/life balance and we’re always happy to look at flexible working and job share options. Currently our opening hours are reduced to 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday to help our team, and once we are ready these will increase again. Weekends will then be on a fair rota basis, shared with the rest of the team. No on call or OOH.

Along with a salary up to £70,000 + £5,000 Welcome Bonus we offer all the benefits you’d expect from a major employer (pension, healthcare, paid memberships etc.) plus a few more, such as excellent career progression, exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts (up to 30% off at Pets at Home), and relocation packages from within or outside the UK, including visa sponsorship if wanted (we’re an A+ rated sponsor).

So if you share our passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare, exceptional customer service and would like to join our team, then we would love to hear from you.

Pets just see people. And just like pets, we embrace everyone’s differences. We work to break down barriers, attract and develop diverse talent, and create a culture that allows everyone to be the best they can be.

Our diversity and inclusion vision is that everyone is welcome and feels part of our group. So if you think you’re a good match to what we are looking for, and you share our belief that together ‘we’re better with pets’, we’re waiting to hear from you, whatever your background or circumstances.

We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
