Veterinary Surgeon
We’re looking for a dedicated veterinary surgeon to join our supportive and experienced team at Sheffield Drakehouse, where a strong team spirit and genuine care for pets and their owners are at the heart of everything we do.
Our practice is based inside the vibrant Pets at Home store on Drakehouse Retail Park. We offer free parking for staff and clients and easy accessibility.
Being on a major retail hub we boast excellent transport links just a 5 minute stroll lands you at Crystal Peaks or Drakehouse Lane tram stops on the blue line, plus numerous bus routes. Road connections to the city centre and the M1 make commuting easy.
About us
At Sheffield Drakehouse Vets for Pets, we have a team of 2 Vets (that are also our Practice Owners), 3 Nurses, 1 VCA as well as an incredible administrative support team of 3 Receptionists.
Alex, one of our Vets, holds a certificate in ultrasonography and we encourage certificates in your field of interest or expertise!
Our bright and airy purpose-built practice includes lots of first-class equipment including an advanced ultrasound machine and we are soon to have a dental Xray machine.

What we are looking for
- A qualified Veterinary Surgeon with RCVS registration
- Ideally you will have at least 3-4 years’ experience working in small animal practice and are confident to do both consult and surgery
- You will be confident in small animal routine surgeries and appointments. You could have a surgical bias, or a consult only Vet – we are open to consideration of your expertise
- We would ideally appoint a part time applicant working 20hrs per week on Wednesday and Thursday (10hr shifts from 8:30am- 7pm (inc 30min lunch break))
- You wouldn’t have any weekend work included in this role
- No OOHs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for animal welfare and high-quality patient care
- Team player attitude with the ability to work independently
