We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Lead to join our practice in Straiton, which will allow you to really put your mark on the standards of care and push the practice to even greater heights! Paying up to £70,000 (FTE, DOE)

  • This is ideally a full-time role and will include 1 in 3 Saturdays
  • You will oversee mentoring junior staff and ensuring they adhere to the high standards of care that the practice is known for
  • Ideally you will have a passion for surgery and will be confident in all routine soft tissue surgeries
  • CPD and certificates can be supported
  • You will join an experienced clinical team with a diagnostic imaging certificate holder
  • Diverse case load including exotics

Our Straiton practice is a ten-year-old Vets for Pets practice, ideally located at the foot of the Pentland Hills in glorious Edinburgh. The practice is independently run, by Hans and Kaidian, supported by a fantastic team, who are committed to delivering an outstanding level of service in the community and through this, they have enabled a real "proud to be part of the team" work ethos.

You will join an experienced clinical team which performs all routine surgeries including orthopaedics as well as dentals. Our vet team is very experienced and offer a range of specialist treatments. Kaidian and Hans are passionate about their colleague’s development and highly encourage CPD and Certificates. This is demonstrated in one of their vets holding a certificate in diagnostic imaging. We also see exotics, from rabbits to geckos! So, no matter your interest, this may be the place for you to explore and develop your skills further.

  • DR X-ray system
  • Propet 70 ultrasound
  • In house Idexx Lasercyte, microscope
  • Blood pressure monitor, pulse ox, capnography, multi-parameter
  • Dental machine
  • Dental X-ray

The role: 
The practice opening hours are 8.30am -7pm Monday to Friday. Saturday is 08:30-6 pm. Saturdays are worked as 1/3 with time off in lieu the following week. We are closed on Sundays. The position being offered is full time, that is, 40 hours per week.

You will ideally be an experienced vet who is confident in all aspects of routine work in practice, you will need to be confident to lead a team and ensure that high standards of care is provided for all our patients and clients. 

This role will include mentoring junior staff including New Graduates. 

Our remuneration package includes a great salary up to £70,000 (DOE, FTE), paid RCVS membership, paid BVA membership, CPD allowance, discounts most places you shop.
